Two satellite pre-conference workshops
In addition to the main conference, there will be two satellite pre-conference workshops held on May 21st, a day before the event. The first workshop will be led by Roman Poryadin, a skilled Deaf interpreter, who will be offering a session on International Sign. This workshop will provide participants the opportunity to learn International Sign from an experienced practitioner, offering invaluable insights into communication across language boundaries within the Deaf community. Moreover, the acquired skills will be extremely useful for communicating with others during the conference itself.
The second workshop will be facilitated by Patrick Rohrer, who will introduce M3D, an advanced annotation system for multimodal data. This hands-on tutorial will guide participants through the process of annotating complex multimodal datasets, giving them practical experience in analyzing and coding diverse forms of communicative signals. Both workshops will provide attendees with unique skill sets directly relevant to the study of feedback in language.
