General Information

LingCologne is a biannual conference organized by the Cologne Center of Language Sciences (CCLS), a joint research center at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Cologne, established in collaboration of all institutes working in the field of linguistics or language-related studies, including the philologies. The CCLS seeks to enhance and facilitate the communication and collaboration of linguists from all domains. With more than 250 members, the CCLS is one of the largest research centers at the University of Cologne and plays a major role in administrational issues concerning the language sciences.

LingCologne is a two-day international workshop, focusing on a different aspect of language and linguistic theory every second year. The conference brings together around eight of the world’s leading researchers from a variety of disciplines and perspectives to present their work in relation to the chosen theme, leaving ample time for active discussion. In addition to talks by experts, a poster session provides the stage to present related research. LingCologne aims to create an opportunity for both undergraduate and graduate students and researchers of the University of Cologne to interact with international scholars.
